Photoshop-compatible digital noise removal plug-in designed by ImageSkill allowing a user to clean up noise nearly automatically while preserving the image fine details.
Pros: Magic Denoiser is a noise reduction Photoshop-compatible plug-in for Windows that can work with both commercial software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Digital Image Suite and free software like IrfanView, XnView.
Adobe Photoshop-compatible digital noise removal plug-in has a nice, simplified and intuitive user friendly interface with only a few controls and adjustments. The plug n helps remove grainy noise as well as impulse noise from photographs. It’s particularly useful with photos take with high ISO sensitivity where grainy noise is highly likely.
It is possible to adjust the automatic noise filtering result by choosing the appropriate noise sampling pattern size and its location in an image or loading relevant preset. Besides, the noise reduction result can be enhanced by varying the strength of the noise suppression control and switching on “Remove impulse noise” option with characteristic speckle size. It is also possible to produce perceptually better results by adjusting the sharpness of image fine details.
The internal algorithm makes an estimate of the noise through one sample but effectively removes the same from all of the image area. The software can distinguish image features and fine details so that the noise removal process does not create extra blurring. It’s possible to create noise removal presents depending on the noise pattern encountered through one’s own camera and shooting conditions encountered. Quite useful for removing noise from photos with textured surfaces mainly.
Cons: Nothing problematic noticed.
Overall a well designed application with simple interface though may not be easy to use. One needs to understand the theory to be able to apply more sophisticated noise removal strategies. Certainly a 4 star rating is deserved.
